The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This results in greater loads on the chassis, flexing and twisting of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Flexing and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower brace helps increase the rigidity of this part of the chassis and limit its twisting.
