The vehicle’s chassis is heavily loaded during dynamic driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause considerable twisting and deformation of the chassis and consequently reduce tyre grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The brace is designed to increase the stiffness of the front lower section of the chassis.
