The chassis is the part of the vehicle that is subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. High loads occur mainly due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and hard acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of mass can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to loads up to three times greater than the other. The result is greater chassis twisting, body deformation and loss of tyre grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps further connect the mounting points and increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
