The vehicle chassis is exposed to significant loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and hard acceleration.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than the load on the other side. This causes the chassis or body to bend and twist, which can lead to the tyres losing grip. Such deformations can negatively affect the vehicle’s handling and cause understeer and oversteer.
