The car’s chassis is subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving, particularly due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause the body to twist and deform, consequently reducing tyre grip.
Chassis twisting while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the chassis.
