The vehicle chassis is heavily loaded while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, hard braking and intense acceleration.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to 3 times greater than on the other. This causes the chassis to flex and twist, or the body to deform, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and twist during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace reduces unwanted movement in this part of the body and contributes to more stable vehicle behaviour.
