A car’s chassis is exposed to the greatest loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater chassis flex and body twisting, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The brace helps increase the rigidity of the lower part of the chassis and reduce its twisting.
