The vehicle chassis is subjected to high loads during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration due to the transfer of body weight.
When cornering, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to 3 times greater than the load on the other side. This causes the chassis to bend and twist, or the body to deform, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis bending and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower brace helps increase the rigidity of this part of the chassis.
