The vehicle chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This can result in increased twisting and bending of the chassis or bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps reduce undesirable bodywork twisting.
