The vehicle chassis is one of the most heavily loaded parts of the car, particularly due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This can cause significant chassis flex, or deformation and torsion of the body, resulting in reduced tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this area.
