The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This can result in significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The brace is designed to increase chassis rigidity in the front lower section of the vehicle.
