The chassis is the part of the vehicle subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of mass to one side of the vehicle can result in forces up to three times greater than on the other side. This causes significant chassis flex or deformation and torsional body twisting, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This front lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of the front of the vehicle and limit its flex.
