The vehicle chassis is subjected to heavy loads during fast cornering, hard braking and abrupt acceleration, mainly due to the transfer of the vehicle body’s mass.
During cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in chassis or body flex and twisting, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this area of the body.
