The vehicle chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer when cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to 3 times more force than the other. This can result in significant chassis twisting, body deformation and torsional movement, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
