During fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration, the vehicle chassis is subjected to significant loads due to the transfer of the body’s weight.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes the chassis to bend and twist, or the body to deform, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Bending and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
