The chassis is the part of the vehicle that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This can cause significant bending and twisting of the chassis or deformation of the bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps reduce unwanted body flex.
