The vehicle chassis is subjected to heavy loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When mass is transferred in a corner, one side of the vehicle can be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This causes the chassis to bend and twist, or the bodywork to deform, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps to limit these undesirable body movements.
