The vehicle chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident when transferring the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can result in severe chassis flex, body deformation and loss of tyre grip.
Chassis flex and deformation when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The brace is designed to increase the rigidity of the front lower section of the chassis.
