The car’s chassis is the part of the vehicle subjected to the greatest stress during fast driving. Significant loads occur mainly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This can result in significant chassis flex as well as body twisting and deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and body deformation while driving through a corner can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace connects the mounting points in the upper part of the suspension and helps limit such body movement.
- Design: front strut brace (strut bar)
- Number of mounting points: 2
Suitable for: Audi A5 I (B8).
