The car body is the part of the vehicle that is subjected to the greatest loads when driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
In some cases, the transfer of mass when cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other side. This can result in significant deformation and twisting of the bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps reduce unwanted movement between the front strut mounting points.
