The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in greater twisting and bending of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps limit body flex in the area of the strut top mounting points.
