The car body is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in greater deformation and twisting of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The front strut brace connects the upper mounting points and helps reduce flexing of the front section of the body. This contributes to more consistent vehicle behaviour during dynamic driving.
