The vehicle body is subjected to considerable loads during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration, mainly due to the transfer of the vehicle’s weight.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater deformation and twisting of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps increase body stiffness around the upper mounting points of the front dampers.
