The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is especially evident due to the transfer of body weight when taking corners quickly, braking hard or accelerating hard.
When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to as much as three times more force than the other. This results in significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis when driving through a corner can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps increase the rigidity of the front section of the body.
