The car body is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to 3 times more force than the other. This causes considerable twisting and deformation of the body, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps connect the upper mounting points of the front dampers and limit body twisting.
The brace is designed for the BMW 7 E32 with a 3.4 engine and 2WD.
