The car body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This leads to significant twisting and flexing of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace connects the mounting points of the upper strut mounts and helps reduce unwanted body movement.
