The car body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in greater body flex and deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flexing while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace connects the upper mounting points of the front dampers and helps reduce body flex.
