A car’s body is exposed to significant loads while driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in the body twisting and flexing, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Flexing and twisting of the chassis while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps increase the rigidity of the front section of the body and reduce its twisting.
