The bodywork is the part of the vehicle that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in significant deformation and twisting of the bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the bodywork during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The front strut brace helps reduce unwanted body movement and improve the rigidity of the front end of the vehicle.
