The car’s body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes significant deformation and twisting of the body, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Body deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps increase body rigidity around the upper mounting points of the front dampers.
