The car body is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, hard braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This causes the body to twist and deform, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Body twist while driving through a corner can cause poorer handling, such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace connects the mounting points of the upper strut mounts and helps reduce body flex.
