The vehicle chassis is subjected to high loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of the body’s weight when cornering at speed, braking hard or accelerating sharply.
When cornering, one side of the vehicle can be subjected to up to three times more load than the other. This causes chassis flex or body deformation, which can lead to the tyres losing grip. Body flex can also result in poorer handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The front strut brace connects the upper suspension mounting points and helps reduce flex in the front section of the body.
