The car body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes considerable body flex and chassis deformation, which can lead to the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The front strut brace helps connect the upper strut mounting points and provides additional body support during dynamic driving.
