The vehicle chassis is subjected to high loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of mass can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause the chassis to twist and deform, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace connects the mounting points at the top of the front dampers and helps limit body roll.
- Mounting position: front upper
