The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to as much as three times greater force than the other. This results in greater loads on the body, twisting and loss of tyre grip.
Deformation and twisting of the body during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps connect the upper strut mounting points and further stiffen the front section of the body.
