The vehicle body is subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This leads to significant deformation and twisting of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps increase body rigidity around the upper strut mounting points.
