The vehicle body is the part exposed to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. These loads are caused primarily by the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or intense acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can result in significant body twisting and flexing, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Body twisting when driving through corners can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
