The vehicle body is subjected to significant loads during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration, mainly due to the transfer of body mass.
When driving through a corner, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other side. This causes twisting and deformation of the body, which can lead to the tyres losing grip.
Body twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps connect the upper strut mounting points and reduce body flex.
