The car body is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This results in high loads on the body, causing it to bend and twist, which can lead to the tyres losing grip.
Body flex and twist during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace connects the mounting points around the upper strut mounts and helps reduce this unwanted body movement.
- Design: front strut brace (strut bar)
- Number of mounting points: 2
Suitable for: Jaguar XJ III (X351).
