The vehicle’s chassis is exposed to considerable loads during fast driving, especially due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of weight to one side of the vehicle can create up to three times more force than on the other side. This causes the body to twist and deform, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis twisting when driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace connects the mounting points in the engine bay and helps reduce body twisting.
