The vehicle’s chassis or body is subjected to the greatest loads during high-speed driving. These loads are caused mainly by the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This leads to twisting and deformation of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps connect the upper mounting points and reduce body twisting.
