The vehicle body is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
In some cases, mass transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This causes significant body twisting and deformation, consequently reducing tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The front strut brace connects the mounting points of the front dampers and helps reduce body twisting.
