The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This can cause significant bending, deformation and twisting of the body, resulting in loss of tyre grip.
Body deformation and twisting during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
