The vehicle body is the part that is subjected to the greatest load during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When driving through a corner, the transfer of weight to one side of the vehicle can result in up to three times more force than on the other side. This causes considerable twisting and deformation of the body, which can lead to the tyres losing grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace helps connect the upper mounting points and increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
