The front upper strut brace connects the front suspension mounting points and helps limit body flex during dynamic driving.
The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is mainly due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, hard braking or acceleration.
In some cases, the transfer of mass when cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This causes considerable body flex and deformation, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and flex when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
