The vehicle body is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.

In certain cases, weight transfer when cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. The result is significant deformation and body flex, causing the tyres to lose grip.

Body deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
