The vehicle body is subjected to the greatest loads when driving quickly through corners, braking hard and accelerating. During this process, the body is loaded unevenly due to the transfer of mass.
In certain cases, the force on one side of the vehicle when driving through a corner can be up to three times greater than on the other side. This causes the body to twist and bend, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis when driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace connects the mounting points and helps increase the stiffness of the front part of the body.
