The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest stress during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight when driving quickly through corners, braking hard or accelerating sharply.
When cornering, the transfer of weight can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This places significant loads on the body and causes it to twist.
Body deformation and twisting when cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace connects the upper strut mounting points and helps reduce flexing of the front part of the body.
