The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in significant loads on the bodywork, twisting and bending, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the bodywork when driving through corners can also cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front strut brace connects the upper strut mounting points and helps increase the stiffness of this section of the bodywork.
