The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. These loads are mainly caused by the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes significant deformation and body flex, which can lead to the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The front strut brace helps connect the upper strut mounts, contributing to greater stiffness of the front section of the body.
